The Friends of the Chelsea District Library have been in existence since 1949, and in that time they have raised thousands of dollars for the library and its programs. Many friends also donate their time and energies serving on the organization’s board, attending community events and in the planning and assisting with many fundraising efforts, including the used book sales. Donations are all used to support the library’s programs, collections, and for staff appreciation.
